Peace is what we all desire, we want to be free in mind and body and be able to do and think the way we want.
Our world is full of chaos, we are flooded with insane amounts of information. There’s so much informations its hard to parse it all and it confuses and clouds our minds. We eat food that slows us down and work in soul crushing office jobs.
I’ve asked that exact question myself since my last day of work in the Navy.
Turns out I miss the status far more than the soul crushing office work and politics. Most people aren’t honest enough to admit that a job makes people look at them a certain way and so this becomes part of their identity. When you move on its devastating if you staked your whole identity on that job. Thankfully I had other things going for me outside of the Navy stuff.
Desire is the fire that burns at the heart of your every action, it’s the reason why you do anything at all. It gives you pleasure, pain, and passion. Emotions that can lead you to ecstasy and destruction.
Over the last 10 years I’ve talked to hundreds of people who have returned from deployments and even combat deployments. I found that they all say similar things if they were in the rear and similar things if they get shot at.
